Commonwealth Freight Truck for 7½” / 7¼”
Now from Pacific Design Shops, a truck solution designed for our 3-axle Depressed Flat Cars. When the depressed flat cars were orginally built in the 1950’s, the Commonwealth Freight Truck was a standard offering. With equilized axles to evenly distribute the weight, these trucks could handle the heavy and oversized loads used. Later in life, the trucks were rebuilt with roller bearings to provide service into the 1980’s before being relaced by Buckeye Trucks.
We have replicated the look and function of these trucks without the need for any mill or lathe to complete the kit. All the frame pieces tab and slot together for easy assembly and wheels and axles are fully machined with a designed press fit for final assembly.
